Dedicated to....
Showing, Sharing, Educating
WELCOME to czech-artglass.com
I have created this website to mainly showcase and share my interest in collecting Czechoslovakian art glass from the Art Deco periods, approximately 1890-1940. You will find postings from my private collection, photo galleries to include previously owned pieces and other pieces of interest. This sight will continually be "under construction" so keep in mind that at times not all areas of this site will be operational.
My original thought for this website is not to sell Czech art glass, although I would not be opposed to creating a vibrant marketplace either through this site or because of this site. My main intention is to share and hopefully educate collectors by shedding more light on the incredible beauty, vibrant colors, voluptuous shapes and artistry of the Czechoslovakian Art Deco periods. I will mainly focus on Czechoslovakian art glass, also known as Bohemian Glass, emphasizing the following manufactures - The Kralik glassworks (Wilhelm Kralik Sohne), Welz glassworks (Franz Welz of Klostergrab), and I may post pictures of Ruckl, Loetz, Pallme Koenig and Rindskopf pieces.
Keep in mind that this website will be more FLASH then education, as there are other individuals far more superior than I am in that area. I may at times borrow from, refer to, and mention them on these pages. You will also find valuable links to other important Czech related websites with more images and research that you may access for further study. What you will find here however is a look at the hobby through my eyes and my camera.
Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy!
